Northumberland Rails

Two very nice Holidays in recent years in Northumberland have produced the following railway photographs. The first up are from 2006. The 2009 are currently in the new photos collection and will be transfered here later. I can recommend Breamish Valley cottages and Doxford Cottages as places to stay.

 Buy Print		 156438 arrives at Chathill with 2A32 the 1700 Metro Centre to Chathill service. This is one of just two trains a day to Chathill. The stock then runs ECS to Belford to clear the line for other services before returning ECS to Chathill where it forms the 1908 to Hexham. There are no northbound trains from here. Photo taken 1/9/09.

Chathill Post office. Like many post offices this one is now closed. Chathill station from where the photo was taken is very well locked after despite only having two arrivals and departures each day ( none on Sundays ).
